Footplate Experience

The Bluebell Railway is pleased to offer the opportunity of a footplate experience on one of our vintage steam locomotives on four dates in January.
Customers are allocated a one hour slot with our locomotive crew of an experienced driver and fireman who will be pleased to show you the workings of a steam locomotive.
Learn how to fire the locomotive and progress to having a go at driving the engine around the station at Sheffield Park.
Customers must be aged between 18 and 70 and be in general good health.
There are no passenger trains running between Sheffield Park, Horsted Keynes and Kingscote due to engineering work on these weekends.

The Bessemer Arms Restaurant will be open through out the day serving breakfast from 0800-1100 then hot lunches until 1400
