We have a great array of events planned over the coming months.

For family-focussed events, and footplate experience opportunities, as well as our various on-train dining services please take a look at the main events listings.

Here we look in more detail at the events focussed on enthusiasts, but which may also appeal to the general visitor too.

27 & 28 June 2026 – Model Railway Weekend

Join us for a fantastic weekend celebrating the hobby of model railways, with layouts, traders, demonstrations, and displays spread across Sheffield Park and Horsted Keynes stations.

One highlight this year is the ‘Ffarquhar Branch’ model railway, which was built by the Rev. W. Awdry

Whether you’re a seasoned modeller, just starting out, or simply curious to see some incredible miniature railways in action, there will be plenty to discover. From detailed layouts and specialist exhibits to inspiration for your own railway projects, it’s a great day out for enthusiasts of all ages.

Better still, your ticket also includes travel on our heritage steam trains, giving you the chance to enjoy both full-size and miniature railways in one visit.

Come along, meet fellow enthusiasts, browse the traders, and enjoy a weekend dedicated to all things railway.

18 & 19 July 2026 – Southern at War Weekend

Spitfire Flying Display confirmed!

We’re delighted to announce that, thanks to the fantastic support of the Spitfire Academy at Goodwood, a Spitfire flypast display has been confirmed for Southern at War on 18th & 19th July at Horsted Keynes Station.

The display is currently scheduled to take place between 12:30pm and 12:40pm on both days, providing a fitting tribute to the event’s wartime theme and a spectacular sight above one of Britain’s most atmospheric heritage railway stations.

Please note that the display is subject to aircraft availability and favourable weather conditions.
