This delightful 2mm scale model is the first in a series of exclusive Bluebell Railway themed wagons by Dapol.

Built by BR at Shildon in 1953 to diagram 1/572 and more commonly known as a 20 ton Grampus dropside Ballast/Sleeper wagon. Later fitted with vacuum brakes and allocated to the Chief Civil Engineer of the Southern Region and based at Feltham until withdrawn.

On the Bluebell this wagon and several others were extensively used by our engineering department in the construction of the Northern Extension to East Grinstead. One or more of the Grampus wagons are regularily used to remove Loco Ash from Sheffield Park MPD. DB985854 has received a new steel floor and has had several of the side doors replaced whilst at the railway.
