The third of these double DVD compilations, culled from the National Film and Television Archive, brings together a selection of films concerned with operating and developing Britain’s railway system. A number of them were made to be shown to railway staff and have not been available for many years.

They include Operation London Bridge, recording the reconstruction of the station in 1975, Making Tracks which concerns the renewal of the permanent way and E for Experimental, an account of the development of the Advanced Passenger Train. Also included is John Schlesinger’s Terminus, tracing 24 hours in the life of Waterloo Station. There is an informative booklet with notes about each film and a list of credits. 237 minutes.
