Stepney Model and Carriage Pack

£150.00

Description

When the Bluebell Railway’s first train ran in August 1960 (at a time when steam still had another seven years’ life on the Southern Region) it consisted of two carriages, painted blue, with Stepney on one end and Bluebell on the other.

The first standard gauge preserved line to operate passenger trains was a trend-setter and since then many similar lines have been opened.

To recall that significant day, the Bluebell Railway has commissioned a model of Stepney in original black livery, accompanied by a blue Maunsell brake composite.

Happily, both Stepney and Bluebell  re-enacted their historic journey in August 2010.
