Bricks, Trains and Brilliant Builds
Choose to travel on the Brilliant Bricks Takeover Train and enjoy building with LEGO® or DUPLO® bricks whilst steaming through the countryside this February half term.
Stop off at Horsted Keynes Station for some more hands-on fun, to look at display models or take part in the mini-figure hunt. All free with your travel ticket this half term. And the best of all? Kids travel for just £1 with a full fare-paying accompanying adult.
Bricks, Trains and Brilliant Builds – that’s half term wrapped up.
The Brilliant Bricks Takeover Train (Set A) – how it works
With 5 carriages and two departures from Sheffield Park station, there is plenty of opportunity to take a seat at a table on this train. Each table has baseboards and bricks to build with on the journey. Take a full return journey to East Grinstead and build and play for 1 hour 40 minutes or choose to hop off at another station. We’d love you to come and play, but the bricks must stay.
Horsted Keynes Station – what’s there?
Stay and play at Horsted Keynes Station Platform 1, where you will find some more hands-on building opportunities and challenges, a graffiti wall using LEGO® bricks and some display models provided by keen and clever enthusiasts. Keep moving with a mini-figure hunt – can you spot them all? Complete the quiz and enter a competition for a mini prize! We will invite a trader who specialises in pocket-money products, ideal for post-Christmas bank balances. Make and takes will also be available while stocks last.
Best of all, a shuttle train will run the 15-minute journey back and forth between Sheffield Park Station and Horsted Keynes, giving plenty of opportunity during the day to get the best brick-building experience.
But there’s more!
Take a ride behind the red steam engine on Set B. Get your photo with Wightwick Hall – soon to star in the new Harry Potter television series.
Plus, on the 18th, 19th & 20th of February meet Giant Robots in SteamWorks! at Sheffield Park Station.
Which trains can you experience using LEGO®
Timetable B in operation – Set A trains:

- From East Grinstead – 11.30am & 2pm
Bluebell Brickworks – Exhibitor Expressions of Interest
We are inviting expressions of interest from train builders and brick enthusiasts who would like to exhibit at Bluebell Brickworks, a family brick-building event taking place at the Bluebell Railway during February half-term.
Event details
Dates: Saturday 14 – Sunday 22 February 2026
Location: Horsted Keynes Station, Bluebell Railway (UK)
Bluebell Brickworks is a train-themed event set across a working heritage railway. Alongside the Brilliant Bricks “Train Takeover”, offering hands-on brick building for families, we will be hosting a small number of static brick displays within Horsted Keynes Station.
What we’re looking for
We are particularly keen to hear from exhibitors with:
- Train-based MOCs
- Railway layouts
- Transport-themed brick builds suitable for a heritage setting
Please note: exhibits do not have to be LEGO. All brick-based creations are welcome—simply include details in the registration form.
Exhibitor spaces are limited, and we are aiming for quality over quantity, rather than a large exhibition hall.
What to expect
- Display spaces in heritage waiting rooms or covered platform areas
- A steady family audience arriving by train throughout the day
- Options to exhibit for one day or multiple days
What exhibitors receive
- Free entry and travel on the railway on exhibit days
- Secure overnight storage where required
- A unique opportunity to exhibit within a working steam railway environment
- A free family return ticket to visit the Bluebell Railway after the event
There is no exhibitor fee to take part.
If you are interested in exhibiting, please complete the registration form to register your expression of interest.
