Platform 2 extension at Sheffield Park
It has long been an issue that the end coach must have the end door locked by the guard because the train will not fit into the level section of the platform.
A temporary structure built just in time for all the Santa Special trains. This task was sub contracted, MJ Padgham and his team. They built a wooden platform supported by a bespoke steel structure delivered from an external steel fabrication company. It was assembled at Horsted Keynes, and transported in sections to Sheffield Park for reassembly. Initial responses to the extension have all been very positive. Finishing touches include the painting of a white line on the edge.
