Supper Specials

Enjoy a delicious supper on board our Supper Special trains this spring!

Join us for an evening on our various Supper Special trains. Your steam hauled train will depart from Sheffield Park Station at 6:30 for a 1 ¾ hour journey through the beautiful Sussex countryside on a return trip to East Grinstead.

Once on board, tuck in to a delicious meal while you enjoy the views. Tickets are sold by table (tables for 2, 3 and 4 are available) and include your supper and tea/coffee or soft drink.

Pie & Mash Special

  • Friday 1 April

This Supper Special includes a pie and mash meal, dessert and tea or coffee.

The traditional menu includes a steak pie served with buttery mashed potato, garden peas and a red wine gravy. For dessert, enjoy lemon meringue pie served with pouring cream.

A vegetarian/vegan option is also available.This includes a spicy vegetable pie with a sweet potato and vegetable ragout and apple pie and plant based cream for dessert.

We regret this experience is not suitable for people with gluten or dairy allergies.

Sausage & Mash Special

Start your weekend with a Sausage & Mash dinner on a Friday night!

This Supper Special includes a meal, dessert and tea or coffee. We are pleased to offer traditional, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free menu options.

Traditional: Cumberland sausage, buttery mashed potato served with garden peas and an onion gravy. Enjoy Banoffee pie for dessert.

Vegetarian: Meatless sausage, jacket potato and peas with onion gravy. Finish your meal with Banoffee pie.

Vegan: Meatless sausage, jacket potato and peas with onion gravy. Enjoy chocolate and coconut tart for dessert.

Gluten free: Gluten free sausage, buttery mashed potato and peas with onion gravy. The dessert option is a chocolate and coconut tart.

Sussex Cottage Stew

We are pleased to offer traditional, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free menus. All options include tea or coffee.

Traditional: Rustic bread and butter, minced beef and roasted vegetable stew with a thyme dumpling and creamed potatoes. Apple and pear crumble with custard for dessert.

Vegetarian: Rustic bread and butter, soya mince and roasted vegetable stew with baked potato. Apple and pear crumble with custard for dessert.

Curry Evening

Our Curry train is back this March!

Once on board, sit back and enjoy a bottle of Cobra, glass of wine or a soft drink while you enjoy the views. You will then be served your curry meal with all the traditional accompaniments. Tea or coffee with a mint chocolate is also included.

We offer a traditional and a vegetarian/vegan menu. This experience can also be adapted to cater for gluten and dairy allergies.

Traditional: Bottle of Cobra, glass of wine or soft drink. Chicken curry with Basmati rice and traditional accompaniments.

Vegetarian / vegan: Bottle of Cobra, glass of wine or soft drink. Sweet potato, chick pea & spinach curry with Basmati rice.
